No. Just the opposite. I've gotten more and more lecherous since I started going to uni. Can vouch for giving up porn. Unsurprisingly, I've found that not browsing any websites with adult content drastically reduces frequency of masturbation. In addition to that, most of such places (not just porn sites, but /b/, /r9k/, so forth, where you casually encounter porn) are not worth visiting in the first place, so avoiding those should bear more advantages than just moderating your sexual habits.

A philosophical argument cannot change your actions, only you can. It will certainly help, but the burden is on you to regain control of yourself.
What is your ultimate concern? Is it mindless, sexual pleasure? What is it that you are working towards in life? You obviously know already that you need to stop, now you must ask yourself what exactly is keeping you from doing so. It will not come easily, I know that myself, but right now you're being controlled by your vices; you're attached to false needs. Give them up now. Do something with your life.
