My bad, I was thinking of some other book. Oxford doesn't have original text but if I would still recommend Oxford's over Penguin's. Oxford is cheaper, has more pages, has higher standards, has a better cover, etc.

do you read the book for having the original text or for it being cheaper, having more pages, higher standards of i dunno what (certainly not of having the original text) and having a better cover

Penguin>>Oxford in this case. George translation is standard, it uses all available sources and presents them next to each other, and more but I'm on phone and lazy.

fagles, fitzgarland, lattirmore, chapman, poe, except they said they poe was his own not really homers, but i would recommend fitzgarland even though i havent read him or any of them for that matter, just repeating what i heard down the great vine

You may as well pay the few extra dollars to get this edition, it contains an acclaimed translation of Gilgamesh and all the ANE literature you would need to read if you're not studying the period at a university level.
