I organize my books by height, and if two or more books are of equal size I go by thickness.
It's the right way and anyone who attempts a different system is wrong.
Alpha by author then chrono within each author's biblio. For series characters written by more than one author they are all filed chrono under original author that is, all Bond novels filed with Fleming and all Conan.with REH.
