Can't help you exactly, but to contextualize him historically you can read Sallust om Catiline, and Appian's first 1-3 books on the civil wars. Also Cicero himself has the single most vast extant body of work from the ancient world, and from what I understand (as someone who can't read Latin) is renowned for his strong writing.

I imagine that a biography of him would largely pull from his own works, the two other writers I mentioned above, and maybe Plutarch (I don't remember if Plutarch wrote about Cicero), but I'm interested to see if anyone else could recommend a book on Cicero.
