Who else started garnering a significant interest in literature and started "actually" reading really late? I started at 20 years old, two years ago; I can't forgive myself for all these wasted years.
Am I alone, /lit/? ;____;
you didnt miss shit, reading is useless and if you think that it will give you any knowledge you are lying to yourself
That's not that late

I didn't start until 20 either, and now I'm doing a PhD in literature, have an enormous book collection and generally live a fairly literary lifestyle.
You've got plenty of time, OP.
I started reading semi-seriously at 22 and didn't really get fully into it until 23.

Looking back, I wasn't able to properly appreciate a lot of the things I read as a teenager anyway. Honestly it's never "too late", and especially not at 20.
I got into reading for pleasure when I was around 18.
I'm a Smiths fan and I know Morrissey was greatly inspired by Oscar Wilde, so I picked up some of his work and really liked it. Then I wanted to read more and started with some classics. I'm 20 now and read on a daily basis.

What gives one knowledge then?
