is it recommended to read Crime and Punishment before The Brothers Karamazov? I'm hankering to read Karamazov but I feel like C&P comes first and I'm just not that interested in that. I have technically already "read" C&P, back in highschool, but that obv. doesn't count

unfunny mrmr
I read Crime and Punishment before the Brothers K. I don't think reading either first would make much of a difference.

I'm wondering if it'd be better to learn Russian, German, or Spanish for the sole purpose of reading books the way they were written.
I'd recommend reading C&P first simply because it's a good introduction to Dostoevsky, and TBK is a much deeper and more complex work.
I'd also recommend you read Notes from Underground and The Idiot before TBK because the protagonists from those two novels are sort of prototypical of Ivan and Alyosha Karamazov, respectively, so it's a good way to experience Dostoevsky's evolution as a writer.

Don't read Crime and Punishment because you want to read The Brothers Karamazov, read Crime and Punishment because it is an amazing book.
It should not be looked at as a "right of passage" or some bullshit like that.

This I read all three of those books before hitting TBK

Demons is far more political in nature than his other major works. If you want to read about what he believed would actually happen if socialists were to take over, and actually see the actions rather than being told what could happen, that's the book you want to read.
