An overrated mediocre book that really wasn't all that depressing. From what I remember, Dazai spent more time telling us how sad the character is then actually conveying the inner sadness itself. I disliked this book not because "the main character was so whiny, jesus why couldn't he just grow up lmao at least you got bitches stop complaining oh by the way I've never experienced depression" but because it really wasn't a very touching or extraordinary book in any way.
