AYYYYYYY /lit/, should I buy this book?

You develop your own sense of taste and wean yourself off the teat of /lit/'s approval unless you want to DFW and Blood Meridian for the rest of your natural life.

I just want to know if I'm about to buy figurative shit or not.
Btw, the alternative is the trial by kafka.
>>7846710
It's a fun read and offers some insight into spatial dimensions that you wouldn't get unless you're studying physics/maths, but it's not probably not going to blow your mind or something.

>should I buy a novel by the greatest german writer of the 20th century or Flatland
>>7846778
This desu OP
Flatland is okay but The Trial is great.
>>7846778
Flatland, obviously.
>>7846710
Flatland is available public domain online, illustrations and all (which I recommend), and it's short. Read it on a screen.

>figurative
yes, watch the animated movie instead
I just finished Flatland. Ask me about it if you like. Or not, just read it online for free.
I wouldn't recommend it. I felt the characters were really two dimensional
>>7848355
Is it good?
>>7848383
heh
>>7848407
Eh, yeah. It's like an experiment piece where the author tries to see how a society would work in two dimensions so the first half is like a discourse on how things do work in that world, then the rest explores some interesting things. It's a quick read, just read it.
>>7846710
if you're a typical /lit/tard, you won't understand it
>>7848511
Not really, it's a fairly straightforward book.
