Do you ever read while under the influence of alcohol? Are you able to?
I'm drunk right now because I lost at Counter-Strike and ripped my microphone in half. Now I can't play Counter-Strike, so I'm going to read Rilke instead. I'll let you nkow how it goes.
I'm actually better at focusing when I'm drunk.

Same here. I consider myself a high-functioning alcoholic. I can concentrate alright without it (when I'm out in public, at work, etc.), but at home I try to keep a steady buzz going which actually clears things up and lets me focus better.
On the bright side, it loosens me up and disinhibits me enough to actually be sensitive to the emotions in the text (I'm pretry unemotional so i need some help with that one). On the negative, it is easy to get distracted.
