That being said, I still like parts of Howl.
He was talented, and well-read. Maybe it's the millenial in me but I just loathe these self-indulgent boomers more and more.
hes probably my all time favorite. definitely indulgent, but hes able to make stoned rambling sound beautiful, if not humerous. howl is great, especially part three. i think his masterpiece is Kaddish because he combines his personal life and struggles with political and religious undertones, and does it with his signature writing style at its pinnacle.
