Pretty much the length of any standard, unimportant college/university essay, which has always been the target I've set myself during those times of the year when I'm in a writing mood.

That's a healthy dose. I do 2k a day of fresh writing, then I usually edit longhand and then rewrite up to 5-7k of older material.

I'm not them and I've gotten up to 4k a day 5 days a week for a month straight at one point when I was writing this one book that I'd already outlined and planned out in advance. I finished it in about a month but I wouldn't recommend it unless money isn't a concern and you don't have a job or any responsibilities because you're not going to get anything else done that month.
