Any good fantasy books out there?
The works of John Crowley are excellent, especially Little, Big.
John Wolfe and Gene Green
Has anyone here read Thiong'o's fantasy novel?
Wolfe and Tolkien.
Tolkien's writing wasn't *that* good, but he knew how to tell a story.

Definitely not. Tolkien's faux-medieval prose makes my eyes bleed. The only reason why he's considered one of the greatest is because of his worldbuilding and storytelling.

Ghormengast, Book of the New Sun and Silmarillion are my favourites.
