Hey /lit/, first time poster. I'm reading Blood Meridian by McCarthy. First of all, if you haven't read it yet, go check it out, it's great.
Main question: I'm looking for music to read along with the book. For those who are unfamiliar, Blood Meridian is a Western, but a violent Southern Gothic more so than Spaghetti Western. Ennio Morricone just doesn't feel right.
Any suggestions? I've been listening to blues and doom metal. Movie scores are welcome as well. Thanks in advance.

Brian Eno and Tangerine Dream are good because they're ambient. And if you're not going ambient you might as well go full meme and listen to Viper for all the good it's going to do for your reading.

When did Eno become popular? Whenever I think he's relevant to a thread and go to post him I find that he's already there. I started to like his stuff because of Sebastiane, what made him catch on for everyone else?

Other than the two slightly more upbeat tracks, this is amazing music to feel depressed to.

Also, if you've not seen the movie itself, you absolutely should. Easily one of the best films to come out in decades.

I saw AOJJ years ago, and I remember enjoying the soundtrack and the scenery, but it sure did have some odd pacing choices.

Oh, and the soundtrack is on Spotify.
Spotify is so fucking win.

That one album Earth did with no distortion on the guitars, just like really twangy.
