Sometimes it seems like it, but when I stop the thinking the problems still remain, so I guess the thinking is attempted therapy for the suffering that is there regardless of it.

>"over thinking"

Now THIS is a normie meme, apparently 'thinking' is the problem, "why don't you just chill out bro, just zone out dude!!!!"
>>
>>7741156
>you need to get out of that head once in a while.

i stopped talking to that person that night.

Never in my life

Those kinds of people can't just respect people's differences in lifestyle and constitution - "why not be like me instead?".

Also this thread isn't about books, if it's feels shit you should take it to >>>/r9k/ or Reddit or your therapist or something OP.
>>
I don't wonder. I already know it.

I don't see overthinking as just meaning "stop thinking", but rather, at the risk of sounding pretentious, related to the problem of weakened will ( http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/weakness-will/ ).

Some people can get thinks done being motivated by the silliest Facebook quotes and motivational videos, but the point is that they get things done. Obviously, overthinking whether you're overthinking something doesn't help, but the point is that sometimes just doing something (not something like yolo-ing, but nonetheless spontaneous) can be difficult for someone used to thinking endlessly about it.

I suppose it depends on how inclusive you want the term "overthinking" to be, but since OP posted a cow, I'm guessing it includes the inability to just live in the moment at times (for some reason philosophers love referring to cows for contrast whenever they talk about overanalyzing or neurotic inactivity).

Thinking is a cause for anxiety for some people. It's used only when necessary for others. It's a refined tool for the patricians and awakened. It's an addiction for the gods and the insane.
>>
>>7741322
And if all apply in some form?
>>
>>7741156
you've never experienced anxiety

I tend to underthink more than anything.

I think im just being realistic, im just not as capable and worthwhile as pretty much all humans beings so I need to put in more thought and avoid a lot of things only normal people can do
>>
I sometimes wonder if I'm over masturbating. You know that feeling where your dick is just sore all over and bright red, but you go for that one more.

That one more.

I do stop and wonder sometimes. Is that one more going to be my last? I'm no dickologist so I don't know exactly how they work and stuff, but surely they have limited use. That burning sensation can't be normal.

I can help. You only think that way about yourself because you're ignorant of many great thinkers throughout history who were yellow brown or black.

Since in your current world view, only white old dudes were the 'clever' ones, and you're a white dude, you must be clever too right ;)

It's easy to fall into that type of line of thinking. It's like the black guy who believes he's innately good at basketball even though he's from a middle class suburban family and has never played.

One way to look at your situation is to be honest with yourself. If you haven't experienced anything particularly personally exciting, challenging, great tragedy, extreme heartbreak and passionate love, and you can't find something else - like your mundane coffee experiences - to write about, are you actually a deep thinker or writer?

Seems to me like you're just the meme of those things, and I don't even know you personally, but I've met a lot of your clones. Pretty boring standard dudes with nothing to really say, desperate to be noticed by anyone for anything. You're no different than the 6/10 girl on instagram who's never had anyone tell her she's not actually a 9, and she desperately clings on to her modelling fantasies and hopes to get discovered one day.

Well, she grows up and probably quite bitter about the whole thing, and you have to grow up too. The mature thing to do would be to have a serious talk with your parents, the people who know you best, about what you should pursue as a career and where they feel your strengths and weaknesses lie. They might help you look back on a fairly uneventful childhood and spot a little spark you can flame into a direction other than the meandering meaningless one you seem to be waddling towards now.

Unless you were a child soldier in Somalia, commandeering international ships as a pirate when you were in your early teens, or have a similar kind of ridiculous background, what are you actually doing? You could go be a missionary in Africa Asia or Latin America for 2 years and get a taste of a life, just a taste, of a life you would otherwise only read about or see filmed from a detached distance.

Shit smells. Dust is dirty, annoying, gets in your eyes your hair your clothes and is a general pain in the ass. People fuck because they are scared or alone or starving, not always because they are in love. Disease and War are the great killers, and they mark a persons face more permanently than a tattoo.

Not saying you need to experience these things first hand... but cmon now, you want to opine about the human condition and you effectively live a carefree existence where the biggest concern is maybe getting your white vans stained by stepping in a puddle.

I don't have to wonder about what I know to be a certain truth.
>>
>>7742213
All I've ever wanted is to drop everything and spend a year or two wandering the world, but my financially supportive parents would disown me and the career I'm trying to build up to may essentially end. Sure, it might inspire some good writing, but what if I lack the talent to turn that inspiration into something of value?

Maybe I'm just too much of a pussy. I tell myself it'll be when I get out of uni, or after grad school, or after I work a few years and save up, but I feel like it might never really happen.
