This one is nice.
Browsing supermarket aisles at 3 AM
Ripped tongue in a jar
A gray summer
Sorry, i'm pretty bad at this

Anon, sitting alone, being bad at metaphors, his face awash in bluish light in the dark mouth of his dark room.

>Browsing supermarket aisles at 3 AM
Why does this image feel so depressing?
>The fluorescent lights buzz and the far off hum of a fridge a few aisles across can be heard. A man alone in front of a tall shelf inspecting tinned soups. At the counter a bored women sits scrolling a facebook feed she has seen 100 times already that night. A lone trolley sits in the dark carpark under a single light as the man's car, with a dirty wind shield and faded paint, waits for him to return.

Walking alone in the empty aisles of a library, that's on the outskirts of some small Oklahoman town in the final few minutes before the sun sets.
Unquestionable monolith
>>7739158
Literally me
>>7739174
I can't put my finger on it, but I've been obsessed with this kind of imagery for a while now. There's something almost supernatural about landscapes like pic related, for example
The outside of an airplane window.
A forest of fallen trees.

The farts of a mute girl.
>>7739109
I like this one.
>>7739174
Supermarkets are sterile, liminal environments that are the absolute epitome of Marx's alienation. No one at a grocery store wants to be there nor do they stay there for long. Every time I go grocery shopping, I always get weighed down by the foggy melancholy of routine and urban unfulfilment by the time I get my eggs.
And the cereal aisle always makes me sourly nostalgic. I crave cereal and I remember how much I liked it before, but now, there's not a single box in that aisle that looks appealing to me. They're packages of over-sugared sweets marketed by bug-eyed cartoon characters whose enticing gaze I've long grown out of.
>>7739273
I was thinking something more along the lines of this
>>7739291
But now I'm thinking of this:

>>7739361
Are you smart?
>>7739367
No. But I have actually been in a cereal aisle.
>>7739291
implying i dont bask in the absurdity of the zenith and hub of hyperculture that are shopping centers; i can engage in the spectacle without being complicit or wallowing in it
>>7739367
I think he's implying the you long outgrew them because they're children's cereals
>>7739291
Empty supermarkets are intimidating, but their normal composition (packed with people, vocal) is pleasing. Sterile, but pleasing. I've recently come to the realization that buying things is an extremely satisfying experience.
>>7739374
If you participate in the spectacle, you are being complicit. Self-awareness and irony do not make you less responsible.
