This book was incredible and got me into a lot of literature. It has themes that are sleeper than simple 'Mary sue' YA. It has a plot that is thought provoking to this day.
I feel YA has a bad rap, with Greene and Rowling running amok when there is still stuff out there that does good and is a ramp into better literature.
most everything by David Levithan gets my stamp of approval, though I'm a gayfag so I guess that's expected
