A used bookstore you mongloid. Chances are a local library near you will occasionally sell off books for pretty cheap as well.

Libraries sometimes have book purging where they sell off a lot of books at once. The library near me basically charges 10 bucks for however many I can carry away in one trip.

You can also dedicate a lot of your weekend every month or so scrounging the goodwill. They usually have a large selection of 99 precent crap but once and a while you'll find something good.

Both of those options don't let you choose what you want though.

I've never seen anything other than paperback John Grishams dredged out of some dead old person's house at goodwill. They're not worth checking. Thrift stores sometimes, but not goodwill.
