>tfw you want to read and write but can't stop browsing 4chan
I hate this fucking place.
>>7706337
not any more than you hate yourself.
>>7706327
Just turn off the computer for 10 minutes anon. You can do it.
>>7706366
But I have to check my threads
>>7706337
If that were true you wouldn't be here right now faggot.luv u :3
>>7706327

This is pathetic senpai. Go ask for a permaban or learn some self discipline. Shit, just turn off your computer, leave your phone, go walk somewhere you can sit down with a book and a notebook. Make it more convenient to read and write than to browse Tanzanian Scribble Wards
>>7706394
/lit/ is a slow moving board. You can wait an hour to check and they will still be there.
>>7706422
>go walk somewhere you can sit down with a book and a notebook.
That's exactly what I said I did!
I once got banned for one day, just one day, and it was hell. Half way through the day I had to calm myself down by writing my own 4chan threads in my notebook. I wrote down what I thought would be appropraite replies from other Anons and I even had a green pen for the green text.

>Half way through the day I had to calm myself down by writing my own 4chan threads in my notebook. I wrote down what I thought would be appropraite replies from other Anons and I even had a green pen for the green text.
Anon, you could write the first greentext story of any literary value. Use this addiction to your advantage. Go to some cabin somewhere without internet access, and just write it all out. It could be a modern day Confessions of an English Opium Eater.
>>7706439
Sometimes when I'm reading shit, I think "what would /lit/ think of this". I'm so ashamed.

I didn't save them and desu I don't think it was anything too weird really. I remember writing an /r9k/ feels greentext about an embarrasing moment in high-school, with anons either pitying or berrating me, and another post with something about Harold Bloom and DFW with the usual responses you see in Bloom/DFW threads.
>>7706504
>I don't think it was anything too weird really
Gonna have to disagree with you there friend
>>7706540
I know it's weird to make my own 4chan threads, but I mean I don't know if it's anything too embarrasing, like I didn't make the posts say shit like, "Oh Anon, you're the best!"
>>7706439
my word
>>7706546
I mean yeah, there are varying degrees of how bad it could have been, but it's still all bad

we need this senpai
I actually did read today, I finished The Stranger while I was snowed in.
Comfy as fuck.
>>7706839
>I finished The Stranger
For the first time or is this bait?
>>7706844Thirdtime.
>>7706439
Dude.
>>7706439
That's some next level shit, anon.
>>7706439
Can't wait to see this on r/4chan and tumblr :^)
>>7706850
Haha okay, just checking. I love Camus and The Stranger, but it is entry level.
>>7706439
Oh, anon...
>>7706877
So you're not allowed to read "entry level" books?
Kill yourself.
>>7706439
You should post it. That sounds hella epic.
>>7706885
You can tell that guy is a wannabe patrician because he brought that entry-level thing up for literally no reason.
Like, seriously, I don't see how your initial post could be seen as bait at all
>>7706885
Nah, you just should have read it by now.
>>7706908
Different anon but we're not all at the same level.
when they look back on your life, 4chan will be your late afternoon walks or 18 hour writing marathons
it will define you as a genius
on the subject of all this entry level talk
what's a good speed to be reading at? right now I read at a speed as if I were speaking the words but I feel like that's very slow
I've never been much of a reader but I'm trying to change that, I'm not sure if I read too slowly or am easily distracted but it takes ages to get through anything, what do?
>>7706927
I have the same problem. I've never been an avid reader but I did some here and there. I thought it would get better after finishing Plato but not really
>>7706941
For larger works that may take a while but I read at the same speed and can get through a dialogue in 20 minutes. The more important thing is to not get tires by a long work.
>>7706941
>I thought it would get better after finishing Plato but not really
Because it all comes from you. There is no magic book that will instantly make you a good reader. You gotta put in some effort and persevere
>>7706912
i mean, i was mostly just going to give him a bad time (entry level/really quick read), but nothing too mean
like i said, i really like camus
>tfw your post quite often literally kills the thread
why guys
>>7706968
>tfw having an interesting discussion and the thread dies
>>7706439
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA WHAT
>>7707017
I read dialog with subvocalization, I read the rest without it, but when something really strikes me I go back and read it over slowly.
>>7706968
>write an carefully constructed post trying to communicate clearly
>thread dies
>make offhanded ironic shitpost
>thread degenerates into 6 hours of shitflinging
the worst feel
>>7706546
pls deliver, anon
>>7707046
adapt, faggot
>>7706866
I've become sucked into tumblr and it's so very strange seeing a post from /lit/ on there.* One of the people I'm following (I barely keep track of this kinda thing, so I don't even know who-- impulse gained from here, I guess) often reblogs from some blog called 'peoplewhogetreallymadaboutfood' or something, and it's all just screenshots from /ck/. Very odd. I don't really know how I feel about it.
*It was that one that's been posted here in humor threads, the one about the man with the doorknob.
>>7706987
>mfw jebbush.com redirects
>>7706439
When I'm banned I post using a different browser. I think the IP is supposed to be banned, but every time I got banned using chrome I could still post using firefox or IE.
Weird shit.
>>7706427
Implying I only browse /lit/
>>7707081
treading the line between irony and not in discourse and interpretation is a necessary mechanism to get the most (read: anything meaningful) out of here per the nature of posting culture
Is 4chan alive again? I almost had to go and read something.
I genuinely prefer anime anyway and often find time for that.
I also just drink too much.
I'm published and stuff but have no real desire to read or write. What I really enjoy is just being in bliss and at least watching 2d girls because having access to real 13/14-year-old girls at my age.
It's also just a nice visual medium.

Do not follow this advice
Sub vocalization is a good thing. You shouldn't be reading books that fast.
>>7708176
things plebs say for 100
fuck. ive been stuck on the third act of Hamlet for a month now.
>>7708245
epic
>>7706439
Kekerekek.
>>7708356
lel I'm tried like 3 times reading Hamlet and I haven't gotten passed the first act. Shakespeare in general is hard for me to read. All the footnotes disrupt it and I get tired after reading a single page.
the sketchest shit just happened, i was wackin it to some porn, and i right when i busted a nut my neighbor got up and went outside, what the hell, now i'm fucking noided
>>7708451
I come here for posts like this while trying to look busy at work
>>7708176
Yeah I know subvocalizing is a meme here but I find I greatly understand a text if I do it (subconsciously). I can "read" something very quickly if I want but I won't remember or truly process it.
dumb feel poster gb2 /r9k/
>>7708431
I wouldn't start with hamlet.
I'd start with the merchant of venice or romeo and juliet. I know the latter is pretty pleb, but once you get a feel for shakespeare's writing style, and the meanings of words used at the time (wherefore means why, not where, for example) he becomes easier to read.
Just push through and you'll be happy you did.
>>7706908
>You should have read it by now
Yeah I'm sure you've read every "entry level" book
I buy books but keep getting distracted by the Stargate series and witcher 3
>>7706422
>Go ask for a permaban...you can do that?
>>7710040
Just go to a worksafe board and flood it with porn until you're banned
>>7706439
le wacky 4chan poster WHO COULD BELIEVE IT??
>>7706439
Please post anon. It's sounds like an actual interesting read.
