Why is it that sometimes my writing is God's personal words, other times it's shit?

Unrefined technique, just keep practicing

For how long on average? FYI, I'm a non-native English speaker so does that account for something?

What language do you write in?

Also do you know what you're writing? Our writing is always better when there's a clear vision behind it. Visionless writing is sporadic and meandering. Hit or miss.

I write in English. Born and raised in Vietnam.

I used to write fiction for a while, but it was shit so I turned into writing essays. Hits and misses, yes. I only write from time to time so the topics are randomly picked.

Do you seriously think your gook essays are "words of god"

Well that pretty much answers it. You can only really write a solid essay if you have some command of the topic at hand.

Here's a general thought to keep for writing: look at the word "author", and its relation to the word "authority".

If we don't know what we're aiming to achieve, and don't have a command of the materials we're working with, be it language or dramatic technique, our writing will always fall short in some way. A dramatist must know his characters just an essayist must know his topic.

So all thats left is study and practice, and when you feel ready try a hand a publishing.

I laughed so hard, that's so mean. You're an asshole, anon!

Don't listen to that OP, although saying you're writing the words of God should rightly get you laughed in the face.
