Does /lit/ like James Clavell and his Asia Saga?
Its rather enjoyable if you can stomach 1200 pages.
There was a span of two weeks I saw a lot of praise for it a little while ago. Haven't seen much recently though I think it is well received here.

I enjoyed Shogun. Pleb prose but the plot and setting kept me interested enough. Plenty of action, intrigue and sexy JAV waifus to fap to.

Mostly anjin-san and his interpreter who was a married woman cucking her husband for some white fever side action. It's been a while since I read it but I think anjin-san also had a wife, a geisha and a maid. I decided that the interpreter looked like Ayumi Shinoda but you may choose your own JAV star if you so desire.
There was also a sadistic bad guy who got some boipussy.

Yeah I don't know why he fictionalized the historical characters when they were clear stand ins for certain people. Did he really just get it wrong?

It's really fucking good, so is Tai Pan. Read it if you want to learn about Japanese culture and history.

It's a matter of personal opinion. I for one would put gaijin before taipan.
It has a lot of subplots, some of which are boring and feel unnecessary - but some are extremely good.
It's pleb tier literature but I like it because the book is nice and heavy, the sentences are short and it satisfies my autistic fetish for dense, unnecessarily long books.
