His prose is awful. His characters are paper-thin. He would be better if he wrote essays instead of the crap he tries to pass off as novels.

Not to be too judgmental, but if you're looking for a way out of life I can't help but think your money could be better spent than on books. Even a posh suicide in Switzerland isn't gonna break the bank these days.
