Does anyone else cringe when seeing people read in public with the cover on proud display? DESU, I'm not even cringing at their behaviour, I'm cringing at the thought that I read and reading is perceived to be something that proves intellectual abilities and the thought that I may be a phoney by reading books. Even though I have the personal philosophy that reading fiction should only be for enjoyment, not for intellectual content.

How do you determine if someone's proudly displaying the cover of their book?

how many times do you think those little white girls got spitroasted by those black dudes

GUYS, LET'S MAKE THIS THREAD ON /LIT/ INTO A DISCUSSION ON INTERRACIAL RELATIONSHIPS
>>
This thread is even more autistic than the one asking people to give reasons to hate a book OP hasn't read.

Holy shit this board might be even more autistic than r9k

when they sit in an awkward position. books are more easily read cover facing down.

OP it only bothered me when people consider reading as one of their interests but the subject matter and content of the work is that of a primary school child. stephen king or harry potter or lion, witch and the jesus. they're not really reading if they're functionally illiterate. it used to bother me on dating sites but now I understand that putting reading, rather than a particular author or genre as an interest just means that they're insecure about their intelligence.
