Sweet. Thanks m8, found a the penguin edition for $5, is it good (in english, although I am brazilian)?

I think that's the McDuff translation. If that's the one, it's excellent and the same I read. Highly praised.
Avsey's translation is another option.

Avsey didn't translate C&P. The other good modern translation is from Oliver Ready. Magarshack is good too,

This is correct. I was thinking about TBK when I recommended translations, although I did read McDuff's C&P.
Where did you find that book at 5 dollars OP?

Almost anything by Philip K. Dick.

In a very cool site. As I said I am brazilian, so there is this website that all the used book stores and/or physical person all over the country can register books to sell, so I just search books in that site, filter it for my city and go direct to the store I saw the book in the site. Or I can get shipped from other states but anyway, its heaven!

Estante virtual? Se sim, aproveita e pega os livros do Philip K. Dick por lá, tem bons preços. Os do Pynchon são ridiculamente caros, though. Nada de relançarem.

Oh, I wasn't aware that this isn't /int/ and that he speaks English, sorry.

Book depository is the shit. And based Macri lifting the lock on those there dollars and the importation of books was great.
I tend not to care a lot about translations, I just look for the books that seem serious or ask my librarian. Perhaps /lit/'s obsession over translations might be a bit overblown. When reading Russian or French authors I just have to accept that it will never be the same as reading the original work

Macri isn't based. Things sound better than they are but anyway, at least we have Book Depositary. A 30 dollars book got lost, contacted support and 20 minutes later they gave me a reply apologizing and saying they were sending new copy. No questions asked.
Regarding translations, I think Russian is the language I'm most scrupulous about. I'd suggest you do the same.
Not to contribute to the memes, but most of Thomas Pynchon's books deal with paranoia and he captures the feeling really well
