Trainspotting is worth reading, but get it in early before you're old enough to realise it's not actually a masterpiece
The others are just for teenage boys. Though Bale is a fine slice in the movie.

American Psycho is pretty good.
Trainspotting is pretty good.

Their depiction of insanity, psychopathy and addiction are p.good.

The way that they adress social problems is good.
