>2016 and writing by hand
In all honesty, it's my preferred method. Writing is just making the pen meet the paper. Good writing is making them get along.
>>7569413
Shit.
>>7570375
The pen is my antenna to God.

how do i improve/change my handwriting
i've had the same shitty handwriting since i was in middle school and i'm almost 25

1: Pick up writing instrument of your choice
2: place writing instrument in your dominant hand
3:practice andGIT GUD

isn't it too late for you to be up, austrailia?
Was I the only one who never learned cursive?
if you can read this with ease I'll be impressed.
>>7570734
I learned it, but I am a 4th-grade dropout and have since forgotten how to write it.
>>7570734
>>7570668 here
In third grade they made us learn cursive, but never penalized us for writing in print so nobody used it.
Used to write in print exclusively until I became dissatisfied with how some of my letters looked and experimented with swashes, angles and capitals. Started by swashing the y-tail. G tail followed. Positioned the page at a more comfortable angle than stick-straight vertical. Experimented with connecting letters. Experimented with fountain pens.
My progress was so slow that you might call it subconscious transition more than practice, but make no mistake, it was deliberate. You MUST practice or your writing WILL stay gross.
Remember to make it aesthetic.
So this is reddit now, huh? I've not been on this board for very long but it was interesting for awhile. Has the majority decided for vanity topics like these to be the norm now?
I had a quite shocking deja vu
>>7570806
Nigger are you 6 years old?
>>7571006
I've had shit handwriting my entire life and never bothered to fix it.
So no.

>>7571736
How old are you?
>>7571736
which pen/pencil do you use?
I find a lot of pens don't work properly b/c I tilt them too far, and a lot of pencils don't work because the graphite wears unsymmetrically
>>7571971
That anon is clearly using a high end refillable pen
Are you looking for one of those?
>>7571981
sure anything
i cant seem to tilt a ballpoint far enough without the ball not touching the paper and the edge of the thing scraping the paper
>>7572000
Have you tried a rollerball with liquid ink?
I use Bic Z4+ .7mm
My fiancé prefers a felt tip, Pilot Precise V5
Both do not have the gel ink/ballpoint issue
>>7572014
thanks ill check them out

Thank you. Which f do you prefer?
>>7571884

oh, I should clarify that my short-form word processor is iwork pages, not ms word, which I prefer for a lot of reasons that I won't go into

>>7571971
I used to use the Pentel Q1005 and OG Rotring 600 0.5 with pentel H2 leads
Now I use a Pilot G-tec 0.3 It looks like shit but writes like sex.

This is my favorite pen. The finer the tip the better.
Any tips on writing with the non-dominant hand? I have rheumatoid arthritis mostly affecting my right, and I'd like to get some practice with my left as a sort of back-up. For how long should I practice daily?
>>7571712
What pen is that?
>>7572722
Pentel q1005 smash
>>7572738

>>7570806
I find this pretty readable desu, certainly more so than all of the cursive posted itt
>>7571894
I like your Fs and Ts. Very strange Zs, though. That is supposed to say ''lazy'' dog, right?
>>7571669
Well, I'm male, if that's enough to shortcut your question. Although someone did recently ask me if I ''wanted sum fuk'' in a Goodreads thread.
>>7572337
Yep. I even went for a ص to make it a bit harder. I think the س would've been more appropriate.
>>7572435
Look up stroke rehabilitation. It should give enough information
>>7574135
The English "s" is ambiguous enough that it doesn't matter too much whether you use "saad" or "seen", but I agree, "seen" is less 'throaty' or 'chesty' (for want of more descriptive/accurate terms) than "saad", and thus, perhaps the more accurate choice
>>7574135
Yeah it's a very lazy Z. Pic related shows a more fancy Z
My writing is beginning to connect with my visual sensibilities. This is an attempt to organize colour palettes by era.
Spengler is also complicating my note taking.
>>7574823
There's not as much distortion there as it seems. Both the easel and the camera tilt.
>>7571537

>my writing is such shit I failed to display characteristics of the writer I'm trying to rip off
Kill yourself dumb faggot.
What's the best way to improve my writing? Are there any guides out there? I learned cursive in primary school but never used it.
Tear me a new asshole, /lit/
>>7575145
>failed to display the characteristics of the writer i'm trying to rip off
you mean successfully departed from my influences rather than just writing pure pastiche?
Typical /lit/. I should have known better.
>>7573041
I have had many typewriters in the past, including that model. Manual typewriters are shit for writing. They have literally 0 advantage over other media. Currently, I use an electric typewriter and my computer to do almost all of my writing. Manual typewriters are physically difficult to use, and force you to write much less quickly than you would be able to otherwise.
>inb4 writing slow is good because it makes you think more about itwhy are you thinking so slow?
the only upside of using a manual typewriter for writing is hipster-y aesthetic and fake nostalgia
>>7575145
>>7575221
Oh, sorry, I assumed you had read the section in my image and concluded that it was unlike Proust, but now I realize you just have no idea what the connection between Proust and Knausgaard is.
My handwriting is pretty shit, but not >>7575212 shit.
How do I fix it? I always draw my letters going top-down, and I think it's why I can't keep a consistent style.
>>7575230
I sincerely thank you for using my shitty handwriting as a reference
>>7570726
It was 1640 in Australia when he posted it.
>>7575230
There are standard ways to form characters. As in where to start and end a stroke. Study them.
There are many styles of cursive. They are mostly the same but there are some characters that will be formed differently and have a slightly different look
If I have to write only a few sentences it's better. Anything past that and it morphs into this (my ~true~ handwriting)
>putting the asthetic quality of writing on a higher pedestal than its intrinsic quality
Get outta here
>>7575229
I was saying your writing reminded me of a bad attempt at ripping off knausgaard. It did not reach a level of style that would make me think of Proust, even though Knausgaard writes in the tradition of Proust. Like if I ate a piece of rotten hamburger meat I might think it came from McDonald's rather than Ruth's Chris.
>>7574823
Really like this one, very fancy.
>>7575677
It's not that I think my writing is so great, but based on this post I'm going to go ahead and assume that, just as you used this weedy logic to retroactively make your bad argument seem like a clever gesture, you're criticizing me so furvently because your anguish at how terrible your own writing is driving you to really believe that it is warranted.
>>7575267
from what i remember, the curriculum only relatively recently changed handwriting to that pic, it used to be far more slanted and long etc. you should all go and ask to see your grandparent's handwriting sometime, you might be pretty surprised how great htey are at it
>>7571712
You fucking post here every time there is an opportunity to show off your gay ass handwriting, you showed us months ago
>hey guys look at me I'm so cool I spend all my time handwriting shit down man I'm neat and so deep I leave my diary in vulnerable positions in my living room so people will look at my handwriting and think I'm neat and I take my notebooks in public for other people to admire and so I can show off how smart I am.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>7576188
sober handwriting
>>7576144
I actually hardly post here just fortunate timing, these are just notes, I do not have a diary, I do not practice my handwriting, stay mad plebeian.
Not native english speaker here, I've not been taught how to write cursive in school, just tried to copy others' handwriting. Also, I write with my right hand, but use my left for everything else.
>>7576033
I'm not a fan of that pic, though there are some letter forms that are nicer than say, the palmer method, which is what your grandparents style probably was
I've also experimented with sutterlin script, though its pretty much impossible to read after you forget what you've written
>>7577426
>left hand leans left.
>Right hand leans right.
You are an odd fellow.
