Yo. Hand-me-down Nexus 7 from 2012 that can't do shit online now that newer versions of Android have come out, but it's perfect for Kindle, Nook, and Google Books.
It's nice in bed, I know I'm sleepy and should stop when I start turning down the brightness to go easier on my eyes.
i read on my phone mostly

is there any way to get pirated books on an iPad?
i literally only buy iBooks because i don't know a free way to get them atm which doesn't involve jailbreaking
>tablet
>not e reader
Enjoy your eye strain.

You have to convert your books to AZW3, PDF or another compatible format first, using a conversion tool such as calibre.
I have an ereader (e-ink screen), which I like for reading epub, rtf, and occasional html docs in well-lit areas.
I also use my phone, for reading pdf docs, and also for low-light situations.
Since I want to get back to reading more this year, I'm considering getting a tablet to complement the other reading devices and for the added convenience with other computer things. Especially for pdf. My phone is pretty small for reading for any length of time, and my ereader does a poor job of rendering them (and Calibre is a mixed bag when it comes to converting them). (Also my desktop locks me in one place, and my laptop can be inconvenient; my then-wife got tired of me reading in bed with a laptop, which is why I ended up with my ereader.)
I've personally ruled out an iPad for various individual reasons. Are there some good lower-cost tablets, or is a Samsung my only viable option? Any personal experience here is welcome.
>not reading physical books
poorfags, etc

Just download them to your PC and then transfer them to the iPad, I do it that way and have no problems. All of them must be in epub format because that's the only one iPad can read.
You can download directly some from here http://gen.lib.rus.ec/ and it will ask you if you want to open the file with iBooks.

I sent myself an epub I got from bookz to my iCloud email. Mail let me open the file with ibooks

Sometimes I want to be able to carry multiple books in a small frame for long trips. Also, don't want to waste money on a book if it might be shit. I always buy if I finish it.
I got a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas and its way simpler and I prefer it over holding the actual book
Mainly because of the storage and the ability to pirate though

That's what I use. I'm an army fag and it even fits in my cargo pocket.. Recently was doing wargames with 5th Group and was reading patrician tier literature as I waited in the darkness of buildings for them to come and raid/kill high value targets.
Felt pretty goodman

harry potter on iBooks now has animated images n shit

I used to in my senior year of high school. But when I don't have to, I don't.
The more philosophy you read, the less consumerous shits you will want.
>>7532016
Well if you live in place where every philosophy costs you the equivalent of hundreds of dollars you might as well buy some eletronic device and download the books from the web.

But you're fueling something that is worth your money.
Okay, let's say you DON'T have the money to buy every book you want, but I see you have a computer, why aren't you reading your books through it?
Do you really think the amount of money you paid on your crapple tablet is worth being able to read "on the go" (the shittiest way to read)?
>>7532107
>why aren't you reading your books through it?
I am. The question is more about portability around the house itself for me, reading for hours on a crappy chair fucking ruins you.
>>7532114
I rather buy a good chair to read and use my computer on.
>>7532127
Why not buy an e-reader/tablet so you can on the sofa or standing, or walking? Jesus lad, don't make things so difficult.
>>7532171
I just live by my philosophy, anon.
I guess Diogenes was an idiot too? While my philosophy is not as radical as his, I'm living it.
>>7528274
don't buy a tablet
you have an e reader
don't do it
never buy a samsung
>>7532249
My fucking man. This is what I live to see. And this is what Diogenes meant when he said "honest man." Let us both endeavor to live by our codes with excellence, raising it to an art.
