Where else do you guys visit to discuss and find new literature?

Only want responses from people who actually read.
>>
I read your post*, does that count?

*p. faggy btw
>>
Goodreads is excellent for finding new books

Honestly apart from this place I feel no need to discuss literature on the internet. Rather do it "in real life"
>>
I'll usually find new books by going to bookshops and looking through myself, or looking at other people's Goodreads lists. I rarely look for books on /lit/ though, as I have limited free time and it takes far too long to wade through the shit to get to anything decent. I also choose to read in any breaks I get, meaning I'm only here a few times a week. Many other genuine readers would rather do the same.

Anyone who chooses to spend their free time here probably read rarely, if at all. It's the same with /v/, everyone prefers to share their opinions about games they've never played instead of actually taking the times to play them. The boards become shit since the people who care are busy taking part in their hobbies instead of circlejerking over them.

I doubt you read any more books than the people whom you criticize.

I spend most of my free time either reading or playing games. I'm not particularly sociable, so I finish maybe 60-70 books a year. To spend more time reading, you must compromise another part of your life. I spend less time socialising, but it seems most people on here sacrifice most of their reading time to discuss the same few classics to seem more intelligent.

Why are you here then?

Bookstores.

Force of habit, mainly. I used to come here much more often but now I only do on weekends, and it's a bank holiday in the UK.
>>
Why do you need to find new books? Have you read all of the Western Canon yet? No? Then what the fuck are you doing?!
>>
I like looking at what people on worldliteratureforum.com are reading, especially the Mexican guy. They read a very wide variety of things from all over the world

ilx has a decent literature board and a great music board

amazon listmania was GOAT-tier for recommendations but they deleted it because it made TOO much sense

>ilx
what is it?
>>

ilxor.com. They mostly talk about popular /mu/-tier music.

Goodreads and /lit/ are currently my main sources of literature-based discussion online, but I usually talk frequently with my lecturer about the books I'm reading because she's read most of the ones I usually pick up. I'll usually ask her for recommendations. Outside of that, I don't really know many people who read frequently IRL nor do I know many online communities focused on reading classics.

I guess that's kinda sad, I know you guys are going to know many more lit-based communities.
