I call bullshit on that JKR comment.
Sur this is what look like the first comment on the appearence of Hermione.

But I am pretty sure in all the seven book, there must be one moment where a comment on her skin color from the narraor or another student.

I found it a bit simple and bullshitting to just say "no no, hermione were never litterary white colored, where did you get that silly idea? I never did :)"

Doesn't anyone know a passage like that?
How can we organize a crowd search to seek it in the books?
>>
"Rowling loves black Hermione."
Hermione is a euphemism for penis.

Honestly looks cute as hell. I don't know about you guys, but I prefer black women. This definitely explains why she's such a strong and independent young woman, she was fighting against racism before she ever fought against magical racism.

Social justice warriors are already screaming about how this OBVIOUSLY means "white with fear", nevermind that a black person's face wouldn't become white under any emotional circumstance short of massive blood loss.

Never mind that every illustration in every book featuring Hermione depicts her as a white girl. Rowling obviously approved the illustrations but "lol she's not white silly racists"
>>

She fucking knows Hermoine wasn't supposed to be black. So fucking what if she's white in the books and black in some stupid ass play? No one should care in any way whatsoever.

>>
She's European. More than that, she's British. Saying, "No, she's white, not black. Isn't that obvious because it's set in England?" would get Rowling under a lot of social pressure from the British tabloids, labling her as a rascit hate mongeree of days past.
>>
>>7489881
>that most of us read as kids
>>
Theres tons of threads about this on >>>/pol/
They dug up some early sketches JKR made, in those sketches Hermoine is undoubtedly the same skin colour as Ron and Harry.
There's also two or three times in the books where her face goes pink or white.

So we are officially down to blackwashing childrens books.
>>
>>7489884
Define 'moral integrity' and explain how your 'moral integrity' requires you to get het up over an adaptation of a children's book. Besides your pompous buzzwords, you do realise adaptations of fiction which change the setting and characters are pretty common right? Does it challenge your moral integrity when somebody sets a Shakespeare play in 1993 instead of 1599?

>>
>>7489738
I think you're missing the context of what the Harry Potter fandom and modern fandoms generally are like. The obsession with fan-fiction has turned a book from an isolated work to more or less just a stage, a world, within which the public are allowed to play out fantasies. Rowling is obviously aware of this and she's not literally saying Hermione was meant to be black in the books, she's just being tactful in allowing people to create these new stories in the world she created. In any case it shouldn't really matter to you.
>>
>>7489940
This, its like on /a/ where they always have fantasies "shipping" threads. There is no reason why we should be making such a fuss out what people like imagining to get their cheap kicks.

OH MY GOD WHO CARES

I once saw a production of Othello where the guy playing Iago was black. Othello was some sallow guy, pretty sure he was in walnut juice. Now, THAT (Iago) is a casting choice apt to raise eyebrows (and it was actually fine, he was quite good). This is just full on whogivesafuck stuff.

As if she doesn't know Hermione's officially illustrated as white on the covers, and will forever be considered white because of the movies.
It's just an idea she found cute, like saying "lol I made her white but if the text gives you the space to imagine her black go for it".

>According to a recent article in The New York Times, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has approved of the new casting of Hermione and was involved in the casting decisions. But as magical as this decision is now, this is a spell that should have been cast a long time ago in the books and films.

Damn
>>
I don't know why you guys are so butthurt about this, that production is obviously going for unusual casting, even Ron and Harry are strange looking old men.

Even if it wasn't, an adaptive play doesn't dictate what's in the text or how you have to envision it. If you don't like their casting, you should just ignore it.

You guys are just eager for someone to hate, no matter how nonsensical the reason.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granger_(name)

>Granger is a surname of English and French origin. It is an occupational name for a farm bailiff.[1] The farm bailiff oversaw the collection of rent and taxes from the barns and storehouses of the lord of the manor.[1] This officer's Anglo-Norman title was grainger, and Old French grangier, which are both derived from the Late Latin granicarius (a derivative of granica, meaning "granary").[1]

"Many fans speculate as to why Lavender Brown's actress was changed for Half Blood Prince, but the reasoning is quite simple. Before Half Blood Prince, Lavender Brown played no major role, she was portrayed by two separate actresses in the second and third film and was a background character. Background characters have no specific casting, which is why multiple people can portray them. Usually they are given character names just to keep order on a film set. Lavender Brown, as a major character role, was not cast until the sixth film. The filmmakers had no way of knowing she would play such a role when they assigned her name to the background actresses from previous films, which is why her actress changed in the sixth film."
>>
>>7494317
