Took my 90 year old grandmother to the bookstore to kill time between doctor appointments and she bought one, apparently some group of elderly people she hangs with like to do them.
I think it's fine for the extremely aged to use them to stave off alzheimers but there has to be relatively young people buying this shit to generate these sales.

The idea behind it is that it can function as a form of active meditation. For people who have trouble clearing their mind, a simple but focused activity like coloring can be very helpful. I bought one because I thought it would be useful (I'm trying to improve my focus), but I'll admit it seems a bit silly and I haven't gotten around to trying it.
