How is Nietzsche's theory of time being a flat circle different from reincarnation?

The soul is transported to another being.

Everything is repeated as you experience it in this lifetime.

so is is nietzche a determinist?
>>
>>7453090

no, because you have/had free-will to make alterations, since this is your first iteration.

And it's actually always the first iteration. So you are free to do as you please but it'll happen forever...i.e you doing as you please for ever, in the same way, as determined by you freely, forever choice determined by you each time
>>
the crucial difference is how both ideas are used
taking it "literally" in either case is hard to make sense of

reincarnation is meant to function like a kind of afterlife where your good and bad deeds carry on. the extra meaning that it gives your life comes from outside of life, before it and after it.

nietzsche's use of the idea is meant to reinforce your life from within life. he wants you to live for the now without thinking about what's beyond life. life repeats forever so that you don't have to worry about anything other than that.

how can nietzche be sure that something will happen forever if every time it returns to a first iteration? its seems that is everytime is a first iteration that every return has the possibility and likelihood to change.
>>

>you have free will
>this is the first iteration of the world
Have you read nietzsche at all? He completely shits on the concept of free will, and the eternal recurrence has already happened infinite times, there is no starting point to the circle.
>>7453103
Yes, the eternal recurrence not only counters religious ideas of the afterlife, it also counters the nihilistic idea, that you've probably all seen dozens of times, the mindset of "I'll die anyway so what's the point?", because it infinitely amplifies the value of your life by repeating it an infinite number of times.
>>
>>7453103
oh that makes a lot more sense thanks.
>>
>>7453109

being sure is irrelevant, and misses the point.

>Have you read nietzsche at all? He completely shits on the concept of free will, and the eternal recurrence has already happened infinite times, there is no starting point to the circle.

it's your destiny to have free-will, it's part of eternal recurrence.

>Yes, the eternal recurrence not only counters religious ideas of the afterlife, it also counters the nihilistic idea

no you're missing the point. The idea itself does nothing, what matters is your attitude towards it, which is within your power to mold

>it's your destiny to have free-will, it's part of eternal recurrence.
You don't have free will, you only have will.
>The idea itself does nothing, what matters is your attitude towards it
Yeah of course, but some ideas are better at convincing than others, the idea of the eternal recurrence is much better at convincing people that life is valuable in and of itself than the idea of heaven, right?

> the idea of the eternal recurrence is much better at convincing people that life is valuable in and of itself than the idea of heaven, right?

Why?
If your life is particularly shitty it could feel totally binding, hopeless and a living hell.

At least with heaven existence itself has the possibility of improving.

Well, negative value is also value, lol
>>
That show was shit
