Why is Zizek so weird?
celebrities usually have complexes like that, idk
>>7452273
he is ugly
that's why he embraces vulgarity
>>7452291
>ugly
yes, discredit yourself immediately
>>7452291
I think he's a qt though ^.^. omg, is hedepressed?[spoiler/] poor Zizek.
>>7452273
tourette's & ocdalso ugly
>>7452273
He looks like he dropped out from santa claus university and started smoking pot.
>>7452356
wow, mean. Have tried reading his books? You could learn a lot from them :)
Do I need to read Hegel, Lacan and Marx to understand Zizek?
If (your favorite writer here) was on Youtube, he would look quirky and weird. As would you, my precious little shitposter.
slovenian-ness? he seems pretty normal though aside from the clothes in the kitchen cupboards and stalin
>>7453183
not really for most of his but you still should if you really want to understand indepth his system
I love Zizek, he is so QT and adorable. I would love to live with him. God damn i would do anything to become his roommate ;-;
>tfw ywn live with Zizek, pulling all nighters and debating and having pillow fights when the heat hits the roof

Very good if you haven't read^^
You've spent all day writing your novel and sipping 20 dollar coffee at your local barista only to step outside and find Harold Bloom and Zizek engaged in a life and death struggle on the pavement. A gun skitters away from the pair and lands at your feet. Both look at you and desperately point to each other. There is only one bullet left in the gun.
Who do you shoot?

To perverted times, perverted philosophers.
>>7452291
He's a white boy, of course he's ugly af
>>7452273
>Why is Zizek so weird?
he takes failed leftist philosophers and psychoanalysis seriously.
>running late at uni so I decide to grab a coffee in the canteen, which I've never entered before
>the first thing to grab my
attention is a large poster of a starving african child with some platitude written underneath along with a note saying that x amount of the price of a cup of coffee will be given to charity
>it's a starbucks, oh boy
>full of hipsters reading popscience and new-age self help books
>I snort in derision and mutter "my God! and so on" under my breath, tightening my grip on my copy of Phenomenology of Spirit with an expression of smug satisfaction before turning to leave
>I'm in the middle of a line to the counter and it would be too awkward to leave
>I begin to get highly agitated, pulling at my shirt and sniffing repeatedly as perspiration begins to glisten on my face
>As I approach the counter the girl behind it asks me what I'd like to order
>"one cup of ideology please"
>She looks confused and tries to ask what I mean, but I keep cutting her off and going “huh? huh? huh?” while closing my hand shut in front of her face
>In my excitement I knock all the cups off the counter and exclaim "ideology at its purest!" before storming out
>>7453442
I wonder how battered is Zizek's copy of the Phenomenology.
>>7453455
He probably has one copy in the kitchen, one in the bedroom, one in the bathroom, two or three in the living room, one for travel and a few scattered around campus at work.
Why does he keep his clothes in the kitchen. Won't they smell like food all the time? Balkan food!
>>7453415
this. insanity. especially lacan. that guy was basically a shoddy cultist
his neurotic tics and his contrarian obscenity and introduces a few neat ideas and a novel look at the world in a fun way
>tfw just watched the Pervert's Guide to Ideology
I'm pretty sure Zizek is insane.

Not gonna lie: I struggle to understand his books.
>>7454210
He seems to wander too much IMO, in one paragraph he is talking about Hegel's identity and difference and the next he is referencing some obscure play.
>>7454258
To me it's just the way he formulates his sentences.
I got halfway through the documentary today, I'll finish it later, that shit is 2 hours long of his voice non stop.
>>7453183
If you want to understand Hegel, Lacan, and Marx, you should read Zizek.
>>7454372
Are you crazy, Zizek makes Hegel infinitely more difficult than he already is.
>>7453691
>Slovenia
>Balkan
>>7454500
sure he does anon
Zizek is the Trump of philosoph. Discuss.
>>7454530
That's the joke. Zizek frequently talks about his habits of insulting his friends as Balkanian and so on.
>>7454530
>Slovenia
>not Balkan
>https://youtu.be/yjxAArOkoA0?t=32m37s
and so on
It's this kind of shit that gets me.
>>7453691
damn, his wife is getting him some nice shirts
>>7453226
Bloom.
>forget name of /lit/ stallman

>see 45 out of the corner of my eye
>expect 450 replies
>merely 45
what the FUCK
>>7453485
as if he has room anywhere. all his storage space is taken up by clothes, regardless of the intended use of the room
>>7453377
underrated post
>>7454271
>>7454258
For me it's the wild juxtaposition of Hegelian language and references to The Crying Game and other Oscar-bait-type films. I know it's more relatable than references to obscure myths and plays and shit, but it is a bit jarring to read a somewhat esteemed philosopher mention movies I've seen on basic cable
Zizek is love, Zizek is life.
