lit likes Zizek or not?
Sort of.
I like him but I'm really right wing
>>7449630
I dont like anything
he is basically the only decent living philosopher
>>7449645
You know that makes you special, right?
he's funny
>>7449690
I really just wanted an excuse to post Mark Hamill looking like Zizek tbqh

There are better comedians out there right now, but if you were a big fan of edgy 80s-90s stuff his material isn't that bad. Reminds me of a less lucid George Carlin, or a more lucid version of my Dad
Yesh okay ha ha, I will tell you now. We like him, but in a weird, dialectical way, we don't like him! Now you will shay 'oh yesh, but what about memes, greentext and so on' well let me tell you my own, dirty hypothoseesh!
It iesh not about, *sniff* whether or not /lit/ likesh Zizek. No not at all! It is more the queshtion of: does /lit/ like itshelf?!
>>7450092
>does /lit/ like itshelf?!
No.
That was easy.
>>7450120
You might thsink 'Oh my god this Slovenian clown asking stupid questions'. No! Actually it ish the contrary! The classical Freudian 'return of the repressed' becomes really clear here!
Does this nigga even read literature?
All I see him talk about is pop-culture. I've only seen him talk a little about Dickens but that's it.
>>7450140
He talks about literature a lot. You're just looking in the wrong places.
I've never read any of his books, but his talks on youtube are kind of fun.
I feel like he's generally too chaotic, though, in a way that it's hard to conclude if he even has an opinion on most subjects he discusses. He just goes off on tangential shit and never comes back.
Is his written work any better in that regard?
>>7450176
Yes, significantly better. It seems like there is always too much going on in his mind to sort it into a clear point when he is giving speeches (or making movies...). Books are a format that works much better for Zizek, if his goal is to express a coherent idea rather than be amusing and talk about pop culture.
Just read them they are great. And very importent.
