To me, shitposting is enjoying the atmosphere and culture without actually contributing nor engaging with it, except on a really lazy and superficial level. When called out on it, there's a "I'm as stupid as I want to be" attitude.
I'd say the literary equivalent is having books but not reading them, posting photos of your bookshelves, and doing "book haul" videos on YouTube.
