I'm trying to read about the roman empire but I can't get through stuff like Suetionius, English isn't my first language and it's too fancy to understand anything and I quickly lose my interest, nothing sticks.
Any books you recommend or any tips on how to read more properly?

Not really but its a big deal in Roman history.
i would say look into the roman "desert fathers"
a lot of really good roman stuff never translated into english is in greek
