Just finished The crying of lot 49.
First Pynchon I've read and I liked it, are his other works similar, what did people think of it?

Lot 49 isn't that special, but it's a good novel. Pynchon's just more in his element with longer novels and 49 felt rushed in places, like he was holding himself back from being more discursive.

Crying of Lot was fantastic and it is that special.

Are you sure you liked it? Be sincere, we won't judge you.

Gravity's Rainbow is much much much better and amazing
I did like it, though I do feel like i may have missed some of the ideas in it.

Lucky you. Almost everything else he's written is better. Start with V. or Gravity's Rainbow.

It's a solid place to start, read V. next, the move on to Gravity's Rainbow and Son & Xon
/r/ing that pic of the Gravity's Rainbow edition guide
I've read Gravity's Rainbow and Lot 49, and am partway through Against the Day.
So far, GR is the best, AtD is close (and maybe more enjoyable because it's not as dense), and lot 49 was the weakest by a huge margin. So if you liked Lot, you're in for a treat with the rest.

It'll add another layer to the book.
Also, V. is similar but 100x better.
