I think the deadpan thing is just his humor. He can't be that much of an autist in real life because he's the most successful non-establishment (as in they didn't get an MFA and go to writer's parties and such dick to get into the Kenyon Review and get onto New Yorker 40 under 40 lists) writer, he's the leader of his own scene, he's presumably fucked many attractive women, and other stuff.
Requesting any art you have pertaining to themes such as space and time and ageing please.
