why does every thread that is a question about religion or theology devolve into this shit fighting. he isn't even asking an offensive question he is trying to better understand a passage. why do you guys lose your fucking minds everytime someone askes a question about the bible or a religious text, half of you all turn into fucking crusaders and the other half feel the neccesity to enlighten us all about how god is a phony, just answer the question. anyhow to answer the actual fucking question it is simply saying to approach spirituality with humility so that one does not deify themselves but rather holds that they are serving a spiritual purpose. it is essentially reinforcing the value of humility which was venerated earlier in the bible
