I'm trying to get back into reading and had a question. Do you guys imagine people you know as characters in the book? I could never do that.

Well thanks, i've never even thought of that, surely next time i open a book i'll do it.
I might read Faggots next.

Im too self centered to be even thinking of others as characters. Usually i identify myself as the protagonist and make everyone else up.

what the fuck

That's actually pretty curious. Has anyone ever studied what people usually do when reading, like reading to themselves audibly, imagining themselves as the main character, imagining visuals whatever, speaking in their own head at all and if they do that they use their own voice, etc.
If someone has the same name as someone I know and aren't totally different, I'll imagine them as looking similar without meaning to.

Almost; it's normal to draw from previous experiences, so what I imagine is a mishmash of things I already know.
Sounds pretty stupid.

Any action taking place in an apartment takes place in Seinfeld's apartment for me
