Hey /lit/

So I've read plenty of nasty shit.
Hogg, Naked Lunch, American Pyscho, most of Dennis Cooper's stuff.

But anyway, I recently started reading A Child Called "It" and it just made me sick to my stomach.
I like, literally can't stop thinking about it. I feel like throwing up all the time. I keep getting panic attacks.

What do I do?
>>
Read the second book.

I mean, like, I know it works out for him.

But I have, like, a phobia of vomiting.
And having someone force you to vomit and then later eat said vomit, is like, kind of maybe too much for me.
Can't get the image out of my head.

The stuff with A Child Called It and Jack Ketchum's shit is that it's basically just misery porn. You're just forced to endure awful stuff happening to someone over and over and over. It's almost like some sort of emotional abuse.
>>
Read books about how most of the era was just about hysteria. Then you can be sick someone made this shit up, and people encouraged it.

Yeah, I LIKE that kind of stuff normally, though.

Like, remember Guts? (for the record, I had no idea that was Chuck Palanhiuk)

It's like one of those careful what you wish for things, I guess. I'd wanted to try and find something that would disturb me, I just didn't think it could actually happen.

No, m8, that's Solzhenitsyn; still misery porn, but better /lit/ standards than OP.

1. Get help
2. With stuff like the books you listed, theres at least some merit. American Psycho has a neat concept, solid satire, and is genuinely funny a lot of the time; Naked Lunch's off the wall surrealism and absurdist humor are legitimately interesting; Hogg is a genuine portrait of depravity; etc.

Child Called It is just shit you'd huff paint and jerk off to.

Get help with what?

The only good sick shit is when it reveals something about the character and isn't just misery porn.

Irvine Welsh's stuff is good about it. Okay half of it is straight toilet humor, but fuck it, it's funny.

You fucking pussy

Where would you suggest someone start with him?
Kind of want to avoid Trainspotting, since I've already seen the movie version.
>>
>>7327010
read trainspotting, it's by far his best and has tons of stuff not in the movie

>>7326743
this is why girls shouldn't be allowed to read.

I would recommend you watch the entirety of Mr. Max Hardcore's filmography
