Didn't see a voice thread so I decided to make one.
I decided today's the day, I'm going to start voice training.

https://clyp.it/hb5ung3l
Here is the best female voice I can do right now. Looking for detailed feedback on what I need to work on.
>>
>>6548992
That sounded really good.
>>
>>6549004
Thank you, I have a talent for impressions, but I would like more feedback before I actually try it.
>>
>>6548992
Pretty much how I sound. Bit more awkward I guess because recording random stuff is. So far, I've found it's enough to pass.

https://clyp.it/sf2nzo0g
>>
can i get some more feedback? I'll upload another recording in a bit.
>>
>>6548992
>https://clyp.it/hb5ung3l
Alright, I listened to it.
As detailed as I can.

When a human female speaks she is using her whole vocal-range. You are speaking lighter and softer by cutting out the growly/rougher notes and or sounds you make. It's a good attempt but to sound genuine you need to be able to have more flexibility in what sounds and words you use.

Try talking as manly as possible and notice the difference. Analyze it and try to find something that will feel more natural to you. Aim for something in the middle to start with!

Hope I helped.
>>
>>6549193
I wrote >>6549734 and the same advice applies to you!:)
>>
>>6549734
https://clyp.it/ye3oojh2
Here's another clip of me, taking your advice and using my full vocal rave regardless of the pitch.
To me this sounds too manly. What do you think?

Thank you for your help by the way, very helpful.
>>
>>6549772
>https://clyp.it/ye3oojh2
First of all, shit, did you record this now or..? That was pretty intimate and honest.
I'm happy to help in any way:)

This is a lot more genuine to me! It sounds like an actual common voice belonging to a human with personality. The tone of the words and the feeling when you speak is much more fluid and sounds alive since you have more flexibility and less restraint.

I believe working on how you change your tone during a sentence or analyzing how the background noises in your speech come across would be a good way to go:)

Also, perhaps watch some instructional videos on voice acting/theater speaking and see if it can help you to shape a new way of talking!
>>
>>6549743
Well, here's one spoken more freely, in my mother tongue. I still feel ridiculous talking to noone so it's definitely not natural.
https://clyp.it/pmx3vtha
>>
>>6549821
I was reading off a reddit post lmao. But thank you <3
>>
how is this

i havent had time to practice :(

http://vocaroo.com/i/s1iHm2IVR88x
>>
>>6549878
Yeah, listen to the other persons two different voiceclips and notice the difference. It needs to be more relaxed!:)
>>6549962
Haha, well. Was it yours though? NP. Anything else?
>>
>>6549968
>http://vocaroo.com/i/s1iHm2IVR88x
With time and practice you will improve greatly, so have fun!:)
But it's something with how your tongue is producing your syllables that makes it sound more like a dude:(
>>
>>6549983
>>6549983
my parents just came home so i can't post anything until later.
>>6549968
>>6549989
Resonance. Try and talk like you just inhaled helium WITHOUT the high pitch.

Helppls
Day 14 of practicing.
>>
>>6550012
Hi! What a wonderful voice. I got a bit of tingles from listening to it. I felt cuddled and that brings me to my advice!

To me this sounds like a voice i'd be hearing when cuddling with someone and you're about to sleep. It sounds like a whisper almost.Maybe you're practicing in a room next to people, and I'm curious as to what a more shouting kind of voice and tone would sound like?
>>
>>6550036
That's just my normal voice volume, even my boyfriend has trouble hearing me sometimes when hes right next to me.
>>

Here's another short recording. Looking for more feedback.

I think this is pretty decent. You sound like a more butch woman.
>>6550948
sounds pretty much the same.
>>6550012
I might be guilty of this too, but this is too quiet.

mfw after a month I still can't even get close to something that sounds female at all. Even to the extent that some people have here after a week or two.

I can hold my Adams apple up in my throat for about a half hour. I can get the resonance into my lips and nose pretty consistently when I hum (although quite poorly in regular speech). I can easily get my voice from a resting 110-120 Hz into a 160-200 of even up to 180-220 while talking. But, it still doesn't sound like it has a lick of female in it. What am I missing? Do I still not have resonance down in the right way? I can't figure out if I just need even more practice or if I'm missing a key ingredient.
>>
>>6548992
Is there any way i can train my voice to have a higher pitch range? Like train it to be more feminine but still be able to easily switch it back to my natural voice (No one can know about me doing this)
>>
>>6551637
Ladies tend to have more melodic voices with more pitch changes when talking. It's very subtle though, like faking facial expressions
>>
>>6551279
Everyone says im really quiet, but when i listen to it its not quiet ;-;
>>
>>6552296
I mean when you look at the soundwave yours is almost not visible so there is that...

Like if your recording it while roomates or family is sleeping I get it otherwise I don't know what to tell you.

Yours is objectively (visibly) smaller.
>>
>>6551691
Any tips or guides for this?
>>
>>6551637
im always saying that resonance makes your voice sound feminine and resonance combined with intonation creates a truly female voice
im working on the intonation myself but just having the resonance down makes my voice pass over the phone but i probably sound a bit retarded bc its monotone
>>
>>6548992

Bump. Because voice threads always die prematurely for some reason.
>>
>>6548992
Sounds pretty damn good, just need to work on intonation a bit and you're gold.
>>6549193
You're speaking in falsetto a bit. You don't need to raise your pitch much to sound female. Just change resonance (See bottom of this post)
>>6549772
I agree with >>6549821. It sounds more natural, but at the same time, a little bit forced. Relax a little bit.
>>6549968
Again, don't talk higher. Change resonance. See bottom of this post.
>>6550012
You sound pretty good, but it sounds like it's taking all your effort to keep it up. I think you could relax your larynx a little bit and lower pitch, and still sound good. It might be more comfortable that way. But, if not, you do you.
>>6551279
First attempt sounds better, honestly. You do get into some pretty low grumbles, but I think that could be fixed with practice.

>>6551677
>>6551691
>>6555131
It's really not about pitch. You can talk in a lower voice and still sound feminine. Resonance, melodics, etc. Here's a few resources that might help everyone out.
Quick tutorial on resonance:

Check the gender of your voice:

Inflection:

Other tips:
https://www.reddit.com/r/transvoice/comments/3iznni/emmas_voice_guide/

tl;dr: IT'S NOT ABOUT PITCH.
>>
>>6560498
It may not be all about pitch but pitch damn sure still is an important part. There's is a 100 kHz or so difference between a mean male voice and mean female voice that is undeniable. You can sound feminine without reaching a piercing 220 or something but you sure as heck need to get it above a 110.
>>
excuse my terrible pronounciations and missing of words

i got all female in the gender checker in >>6560498 this post

aww thx <3

It's nice to hear I'm doing well, I've been practicing for a few months. :3
>>
>>6560498
And how do you close the "pharyngeal wall"?
>>
>>6561053
Try to talk like Gollum or Stitch from Lilo & Stitch. It's that muscle, but then you relax it a bit. If you close your pharyngeal wall ALL the way, you won't be able to breathe in.
>>
>>6560931
As long as you don't sound like Chris fucking Hemsworth, you can do with just a slight increase. You don't need to talk as high as possible. Then it just sounds strained. Like it says in the video, just talk as high as is comfortable for you, if you were talking in a higher voice normally.

here's a tip to attain a perfect female voice
1. start with a Gollum imitation
2. add some gay lisp, make sure your sssses are loud and clear, none of that mute mumbling dude sheeeit
3. ask someone to kick you in the nuts while singing a justin bieber song then hold the pitch and combine it with everything else, producing a flawless female voice
if it doesn't work, squeeze your testicles real hard and continue squeezing them until the world starts to fade out. that means it's working
>>
>>6561268
side note: it should be an early justin bieber song when he was still expecting hair on his vagina
>>
>>6561315

DSM isn't proof.

It never even states
>which actually increases with post-op transsexuals.

You are completely retarded.
It doesn't matter what kind of evidence or proof we show you, you won't be able to read and understand the proof, so you'll just continue your feels-crusade.
>>
>>6561394
You're trying to refute the commonly accepted theory.
The burden of evidence is on you.

If MTF, I'd say you pass for the most part. Kind of hard to make out exactly what you are saying, but overall I'd say you at least sound female

If not MTF, you sound alright,I guess, I just had a rather hard time understanding you. I could make out enough to tell you were reading from something, at least.

If you want a better critique, try just saying whatever comes to mind and recording that. It's a better way for us to hear how you naturally speak, instead of how you naturally read dialogue

I hope this helped ^-^
