But it's been almost two years, and I can't even come close. I've exchanged e-mails with people from here and other boards, but it's never the same as with him. There just isn't the compatibility. With everyone else, it feels forced, unlike how it was with him, where it was organic.

But Anon, I can confirm this is terrible advice. Having sex with a hook-up just feels dirty, not even enjoyable. You need to like the person for it to feel good. Not just physically.

Intimate companionship is a definitive human need. It is not some whim that one can be happy without. It fulfills ingrained psychological drives, and without it, the individual will usually enter periods of despondency, depression, self-loathing, etc.
