In my opinion, calling someone "hot" doesn't actually mean that the person wants to have sex with them. You don't have to be sexually attracted to a person to understand if a person is attractive or not.
Plus, it also depends on the intention of calling someone "hot". I personally have some husbando and waifus I would call "hot" but I'm not going to have sex with them.

Basically I thought I was straight. Then after a "relationship" that was mostly based on sex, I waited until college. Thenwhen I hit college, I ddidn't want someone of my opposite gender either. It's mostly a hormonal thing so I tend to feel the urge to have an orgasm during a certain period. Or I'm trying to relieve stress or go to sleep. It doesn't really happen that often.

No, no. We're not just unemotional robots. Asexual people still desire romance and we still have preferences in the aesthetics of a person. Most asexual people will have some kind of idea of what they want.
And the idea of dying alone is a large fear for many asexual people. It's hard to find a person that is comfortable with not having sex.
