Appearances can be deceiving, but generally, anything you see in America that looks like an automatic weapon just isn't.
There's maybe one quarter million legal automatic weapons in the country, of various types, and because more can't be registered, they're skyhigh in value.
For perspective, a regular AR-15 can go for say 800usd for a basic rifle, back when you could still register a new automatic weapon, one which was, would have a market value of about 1000usd, but an AR-15 which is a registered machinegun can today have a market value of 30000usd, thus, they're not used in the commission of crimes, there's about two known cases of a registered automatic weapon having been used in crime since 1934, so they weren't an issue even when they weren't defacto banned.
