Transgender is an umbrella term that includes transexuals, crossdressers, transtreders, etc.

If you're transsexual you're always transgender but if you're transgender you're not necessarily a treansexual.

Transexuals are the ones that get srs so you should refer to them as transexuals although you can use transgender too.

The origin of both terms is exactly the same. The first use of transgender was to describe the medical process.

Transexual is the classical word to define someone who wants to be the opposite gender. Transgender is technically more correct and it should be used now that there is a discussion going on about what the fuck gender is supposed to be, being trans is not a sexuality.
The problem is that transgender is a word co-opted by the media for people who are very special because they clean the house and cook even though they are men or they fix cars with a vagina. So 4chan being conservative in its own way supports the terms transexual and considers anything else tumblrisms.
