I live in Belgium and everyone here pretends to like LGBT people, it's a fucking joke, man. If I walked down the street hand in hand with my bf I would get stabbed if not first blown up my some muslim extremist.

I can only talk about my region, anyway young people (15-35) usually have little to no problems with gays, unsless they have some far right wing ideology (neofascists etc)
The majority of older people are either tolerant about it or against it

Which city are you from? I'm from Leuven and wouldn't feel uncomfortable walking around hand in hand. (still haven't had a boyfriend yet though :c )
New Yorker from USA here. Things are pretty good. People are too pussy to do anything about gays in public, they pretend to be tolerant at least. I expect to recieve glares and undertoned comments, though.
