If love is just a chemical reaction that compels you to breed, what does that mean for two women/guys/whatever?

Love is a chemical reaction that you translate into the desire to be with another. The chemical difference between feelings is pretty small and the brain does most of the work to translate it. What makes you angry could easily make you sad if your mental framing changes, so assuming that chemical exchanges is all there is to it is an oversimplification that only people who don't get science at all but think they are too smart to learn would believe.

It is like this >>6115965 exactly
>>
>>6115954
Basically it means that we are broken and our brain mistakenly finds attraction and fires those chemicals for the same gender, instead of the opposite.

Yes, it's the single and relentless rule of biology.

>what does that mean for two women/guys
Mental illness.

Two factors are involved to explain such behavior.

1: Social hierarchy.

2: Modern identity politics and culture.

The first you will see in a more primitive and simple fashion amongst apes, which is also where the 'homosexuality occurs in nature as well' arguments are based on. What is often omitted out of that argument is the social standing of members who participate in such behaviors. Hint: It's the bottom of the barrel or to establish dominance over rivals.
You also see what we humans would call stigmatization amongst wolves, the weakest gets chewed out. Not because of silly modern human conceptions but simply for being the weakest.
A great deal of how social interaction really (and often subconsciously) operates, or how we behave towards others is based on our perception of social hierarchy, although this is kept out of the general perception as much as possible, it is and always will be very much about stong vs weak, and it is frankly the only part of 'identity' you should actually concern yourself with.

The second point, all these 'identities' are designed to misguide people into thinking sexual encounters are character defining when in reality they are merely the product of circumstance and the aforementioned notions on perception of weakness/strength and don't define you beyond these moments and circumstances at all.
Identity politics are merely yet another form of behavioral control for overexposed westerners.

It fires the same chemicals for a lot of things. There isn't an organ to create each possible emotion, most of the work of translating reactions to feelings is done by the brain. Some times it translates fear as love or anger as sadness, because it's all pretty much the same on the chemical level.
>>

Stop seeing the 'The brain' as one singular unit, it consists of many parts and while the same chemicals are involved in a lot of functions and signals, slight differences in the way they distribute and which parts form active combinations as a result can make all the difference.

Certain parts fire combined as a result of these chemicals and which parts fire to what extent together does produce and dictate every possible emotion.

People have it all wrong.

Love doesn't exist to encourage reproducing. Reproducing exists to give people more of that gushy love-y intimacy feeling and ~meaning~.

Life isn't all about reproduction, people have that all wrong. Think about it - if life is about reproducing, then what? What's the actual purpose of existing? Just to exist more? What's the purpose of procreating? Just an endless cycle of a meaningless existence? It doesn't make sense. Procreation is not an answer in and of itself.

The true answer is that procreating exists to give us more of the love we seek. And the endless search for love, the best feeling on earth, is what we keep living and reproducing for.

tl;dr: Love is life, life is love.

Lol, more like we're machines that carry on and transmit selfish genetic code so that they can live on rather than us.

Honestly it's all for not in the end anyways because eventually existence will end. Cosmic pessimism and all that jazz. So just focus on the feel good chemicals man...

Lust is the chemical reaction that encourages you to breed. All species experience an urge to breed and reproduce that is what lust is for. Even species that just dump their eggs in a big pile and spread their sperm and immediately die experience this urge to breed.

Love is a pair bonding emotion. Its presence is to encourage offspring rearing, not production. The presence of pair-bonding is observable in species that have frail offspring that require a lot of attention and resources to reach adulthood. I.E. freaky big headed bipedal beings that can't walk for the first year of life.

As for why same sex pair bonding is observable in other primate species, suggesting that we inherited it from a common earlier ancestor. In bonobos same-sex sexual interactions are commonly used as a means to sooth a friend. Being bisexual may have been a very useful trait to have if it allowed you to make up with your friends and hold onto a complex social structure which allowed you to raise your odd ungainly children together. Like most traits in complex organisms it is likely associated with multiple alleles producing a spectrum of different presentations, with the outliers being super straight and super gay.

Blah blah blah. I'm tired and out of beer.
