The question came up during a group seminar discussion where the turbo feminist and (self-proclaimed) dyke started to rage about. Personally I'm a bit split. At the ED I wouldn't object because it's a stressful place and other tests are usually done with the urine sample so why make a fuss.
At an office, I'd argue that it's unnecessary because I haven't slept with a man, so it's a waste of time and money. But if they keep insisting, or ask "are you sure", I don't know. As a lesbian I'd get a bit upset because they seem to not listen to me. At the same time, as a health care worker and knowing that some "lesbians" are more straight than gay, I'd probably want to be sure the test is completely unnecessary, if a treatment is potentially dangerous when pregnant.
I need some second opinions from people who 100% know better than me.
Ive been in a relationship with a guy for five years. Highschool sweethearts, all of my sexual and relationship firsts with him, that kind of deal. I know I've always liked girls, even prefered girls, but I assumed it was with the side note of, "but I like guys too".
