it kinda varies, but at least for me it's generally like...feeling swallowed up by this dark pit in your chest. like the inadequacies of your life and your image or just general expression weigh on you so heavily that you feel like you're slowly being pushed 6 feet under. nothing is good enough, you're not good enough. which can relate to hurting yourself by doing things that aren't safe or good for you like sexual promiscuity, or self-harm, or forcing starvation. which can result in a slight feeling of superficial enjoyment because you get validation through your appearance, or through feeling a different kind of pain for once that you can actually manage. a lot of the time you may not even know what's wrong until you look around your room and realize you haven't bothered to clean it, nor have you talked to anyone or left your house in days because you've been so stuck inside this constant self-deprecating and self-obsessive loop that nothing else real existed. which can result in not knowing what is real, and what isn't.

dysphoria related feels are pretty easily relatable in people who suffer with bouts of depression and stuff in my opinion. like it's obviously different but i've always felt like cis people can understand it if it's phrased properly because despite the fact that this is a constant in our lives and it's not something you'll experience, the side effects are at times pretty common in everyone. it's just more severe, more constant, and rooted in different things for us than for other people because our body is (or has) literally betrayed our mind's perception of what is supposed to be our reality.
there's not really anything you can do or say because like...at least for me i don't talk about dysphoria or depression stuff in depth often because being complimented or told comforting things doesn't do shit. what does help is someone being around me to help distract me until the dysphoria storm has passed. just be there, even if not physically, and detract from it.

the thing is like...people who have clinical depression for example can't be helped by just anything. sometimes meds or balancing an imbalance can fix it, but generally they just like to know someone understands and can be there.
when people get depressed because of circumstances in their life it's easier to comfort because a change of situation can fix it.
dysphoria is a constant and altho it can be alleviated with HRT and stuff it's never really cured. a change of circumstance can help, but again, it's all alleviation of a constant burden and feeling. it's a lifetime struggle. HRT and transition are just treatment approaches to whatever this is inside of us. and because we can't physically leave our own bodies to get away from it, escapism is the only thing that really does anything. it's not your fault or w/e that you can't just say something to make it better cause like that's just not how it works. idk if that made sense or not lol
