They're usually autogenerated from tapmusic.net using your lastfm profile. There's no real rules; do what you want. Tapmusic just takes your most listened to things with an 'album' tag, even if the actual album is just an EP or something.

I dunno, I think Surfer Rosa was their best. Doolittle was the last time the Pixies were balanced, and Bossanova and especially Trompe Le Monde are too much Frank Black. That's why their new shit like Bagboy doesn't work; Kim Deal is gone and it's too much Frank Black. (Bam Thwok was too much Kim Deal btw; it's really hard to balance the two).

Doolittle is too... Clean to be top-tier in my books. But it is one of my favourite albums. Obviously Surfa is their best.

Would certainly appreciate some recommendations. It's difficult for me to discover new albums that I actually enjoy.
I really like brooding intensity and dreadful atmospheres. Would like to find more albums that sound like the score to a post-apocalyptic film or Fallout game. Maybe something with '80s-style synths that sound like something out of Blade Runner, or violins or other subtle orchestration.

You've probably listened to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, but if not... check out F A ∞. If you like that check out related projects like A Silver Mt Zion and Set Fire to Flames. I've never heard an album that screams 'post-apocalyptic' better than F A ∞.

Love Two Door Cinema Club and Watsky especially
TDCC is still pretty sweet but I can't take Watsky seriously anymore He put on a pretty fucking good shoe though. Try to catch him live
