Usually it doesn't, cause depression might be caused by brain chemical imbalance that requires medical treatment. Reactive vs Endogenous depression (theory is that both factors play a role but one is prevalent).

Long story short: see a decent doctor, depression is a medical condition that needs appropriate treatment. And you will feel much better and improve your life.
